John Baldessari

New Prints

John Baldessari has created a new series of colorful silkscreen prints that feature a playful nod to Matisse’s 1912 painting, Goldfish and Sculpture, in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art.  Also making their debut will be two prints conceived by Baldessari in 1991 in which each combine two large photographic elements with painterly overlays of silhouetted figures.

Ellsworth Kelly
New 5-color lithographs


Gemini is pleased to present a significant body of new works by Ellsworth Kelly, in which the artist returns to his signature color palette and organized forms. Kelly’s print retrospective, which opened earlier this year at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and soon travel to Portland Art Museum, along with the recent installation of a major painting at the Museum of Modern Art reiterates his significant contribution to contemporary art.

Among the most innovative architects in history, Frank Gehry’s buildings seem to defy the natural laws of physics. He makes solid materials appear fluid, and his buildings are often compared to sculpture. For Gehry, drawing is inextricably linked with the germination of his ideas and design process. Unlike traditional, utilitarian architectural drawings, Gehry’s fluid, lyrical lines simply convey a loose relationship of space and form.
