Richard Serra

Rift I, 2012

2-panel, 1 color etching

94 x 120 in. (238.8 x 304.8 cm)

Edition of 15

A renowned sculptor, Richard Serra’s works on paper are an integral part of his artistic endeavors.  Typically, he makes drawings or prints after the completion of his sculptures as a way of re-visiting and re-examining the three-dimensional forms. His newest editions, Rift I and Double Rift I, are large-scale diptych and triptych etchings. These monumental images further the artist’s investigations of scale, spatial relations and perception.

John Baldessari

New Prints

John Baldessari has created a new series of colorful silkscreen prints that feature a playful nod to Matisse’s 1912 painting, Goldfish and Sculpture, in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art.  Also making their debut will be two prints conceived by Baldessari in 1991 in which each combine two large photographic elements with painterly overlays of silhouetted figures.

About

Welcome to Gemini G.E.L.'s blog. We invite you to check here often for updates about the artists and our projects at the workshop and beyond.

Founded in 1966, Gemini G.E.L. is an artists‘ workshop and publisher of limited edition prints and sculptures. At Gemini, the artists do all of the drawing or carving directly onto the printing elements. The edition is hand-printed by Gemini‘s master printers, and each print is signed and numbered by the artist as well as embossed with the Gemini ‘chop‘.
